Botox

Considered, never rushed.

Botox relaxes the specific muscles that crease the skin when you frown, squint or raise your brows. Done with restraint, it softens expression lines without taking the expression away.

Tell your practitioner exactly how much movement you want to keep. That conversation happens before treatment, not after it.

  1. Frown lines

The vertical lines between the eyebrows that can make you look tired or cross when you're neither.

  2. Crow's feet

The fine lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes when you smile or squint in the Florida sun.

  3. Forehead lines

The horizontal lines across the forehead that deepen when you raise your brows.

Over time

What regular, well-planned treatment is intended to do. Individual results vary.

  • Soften the look of expression lines
  • Help keep lines from setting in more deeply
  • Keep your look natural, not frozen

Beyond the cosmetic

Botox also has medical uses. Whether you're a candidate is assessed at your consultation.

  • Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
  • Chronic migraines
  • Muscle spasms
  • Certain eye conditions
Dermal fillers

Looking for filler instead?

Botox relaxes the muscles behind expression lines. Lost volume in the cheeks, temples, lips or under the eyes is a job for dermal filler, and it has its own page: dermal fillers in Naples.

Botox or filler?

Two tools, different jobs.

Many patients aren't sure which one they need. Often it's one, sometimes it's both. Here's the short version.

Botox

Relaxes

What it does
Temporarily relaxes the muscles that crease the skin with expression.
Typically used for
Lines that show when you move: frown lines, crow's feet, forehead lines.
The goal
A rested, smoother look that still moves like you.
Dermal filler

Restores

What it does
Adds volume and shape where it's been lost, or where you'd like a little more.
Typically used for
Cheeks, temples, under-eye hollows, lips and the appearance of some scars.
The goal
Support and definition that looks like your own face on a good day.

Botox and filler in the same visit is common. Your practitioner will tell you honestly whether combining them makes sense for you, and how long results typically last for your treatment.

Botox, explained

What Botox is, and what to expect.

Botox Cosmetic is a prescription medicine, onabotulinumtoxinA, made by Allergan. It's FDA-approved for temporarily improving the look of frown lines, crow's feet, forehead lines and the vertical neck bands called platysma bands, and it's given by our medical team in small, measured injections.

When you'll notice it

Botox works gradually. Changes come on over the first days and settle over the following couple of weeks, which is why your follow-up is booked after it's had time to settle.

How long Botox lasts

It's temporary. Muscle movement returns gradually over a few months, at a pace that varies from person to person, and many patients come back when they notice lines returning.

Side effects

The most common are redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising where the needle went in, and headache. Less often, an eyelid or brow can feel heavy for a while. Rarely, the effect can spread beyond the treated area: trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing needs medical help straight away.

Who shouldn't have Botox

  • Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Anyone with a neuromuscular condition, such as myasthenia gravis
  • Anyone with an infection where the injections would go
  • Anyone who's reacted to a botulinum toxin product before
Before and after

Botox in Naples, FL: your appointment, start to finish.

We're in downtown Naples on 1st Ave N, open 7 days a week, so an appointment fits around work, the beach or the golf course. Here's what it involves.

Before your appointment

Tell us about every medicine and supplement you take. Blood thinners, aspirin, fish oil and some supplements can make bruising more likely, so don't stop anything prescribed, just let us know. If you've got an important event, book a few weeks ahead so there's time to settle.

During it

Your practitioner marks the areas, then gives a few small injections with a fine needle. Most people describe a quick pinch. The injections themselves take minutes.

Aftercare

You'll get specific aftercare. It usually means not rubbing or massaging the area, staying upright for a few hours and skipping hard exercise for the rest of the day. Most people go straight back to their day.

Botox for men

Botox isn't just for women. Men often ask about forehead lines and crow's feet. The plan is the same: keep the movement you want, and soften the lines you don't.

What to expect

No surprises, start to finish.

Nothing's booked on the day unless you want it to be.

  1. 1

    Your free consultation

We look at the areas that bother you, talk through what's realistic, and give you a price before anything's booked.

  2. 2

    Your appointment

Treatment is carried out by a member of our medical team. A Botox appointment is short.

  3. 3

    Afterwards

You get specific aftercare for the treatment you had, and we review the result together at follow-up.

Your care team

The people you'll actually see.

Every visit is with a member of our medical team. Not a rotating roster, not a chart number.

Questions

What people ask us first.

Anything else? Call (239) 360-6253, any day from 8am to 8pm.

How much does Botox cost in Naples?

Pricing depends on the areas treated and the plan you and your practitioner agree on. The consultation is free, and you get a number before anything's booked.

Will I look overdone?

Natural-looking results are the goal, and that's a conversation before treatment rather than a surprise after it. Tell your practitioner exactly how much movement you want to keep.

Who performs Botox in Naples?

A member of our medical team. Optimal Wellness is practitioner-led, every visit.

How do I know if I'm a candidate?

That's what the consultation is for. Bring your medical history and a list of any medications you take.

Can I have Botox and filler on the same day?

Often, yes. It's a common combination, and fillers are covered on our dermal fillers page. Your practitioner will tell you honestly whether it makes sense for you or whether to space them out.

How long does Botox last?

Botox is temporary. Movement returns gradually over a few months, and how quickly varies from person to person. Your practitioner talks you through what to expect for the areas you're treating.

When will I see a difference after Botox?

It comes on gradually over the first days and settles over the following couple of weeks. That's why we review it with you once it's had time to settle, rather than on the day.

What are the side effects of Botox?

The most common are redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising at the injection sites, and headache. Less often, an eyelid or brow can feel heavy for a while. Rarely, the effect can spread beyond the treated area, and trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing needs medical help straight away.

Who shouldn't get Botox?

Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding, anyone with a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, anyone with an infection where the injections would go, and anyone who's reacted to a botulinum toxin product before. Your practitioner reviews your history first.

Does Botox hurt?

Most people describe a quick pinch. The needle is fine, the injections take minutes, and your practitioner can tell you what to expect for the areas you're treating.

What should I avoid after Botox?

You'll get specific aftercare. It usually means not rubbing or massaging the area, staying upright for a few hours and skipping hard exercise for the rest of the day.

Is there downtime after Botox?

Most people go straight back to their day. Any redness or small bumps at the injection sites usually fade quickly, and a bruise, if you get one, can be covered with makeup.

Is Botox the same as Dysport or Xeomin?

They're all botulinum toxin type A medicines, made by different manufacturers, and their doses aren't interchangeable. This page is about Botox. If you've had Dysport or Xeomin elsewhere, tell us at your consultation.

Can men get Botox?

Yes. Men often ask about forehead lines and crow's feet. The approach is the same: keep the movement you want and soften the lines you don't.
