What NAD+ is

A coenzyme in every cell.

NAD+, short for nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, is a coenzyme your body makes and uses all the time. It helps your cells turn food into energy and takes part in the processes that maintain and repair them.

Why people ask about it

Patients who ask about NAD+ often mention energy, focus or recovery. We can't promise any of those. What we can do is assess you, explain what's known and what isn't, and plan with you.

What the research says

Research into NAD+ is ongoing. It isn't FDA-approved to treat any condition, and it isn't a substitute for medical care.

Where it comes from

NAD+ for IV or injection may be compounded. Compounded preparations don't go through the FDA's drug approval process, and your clinician tells you what you'd be given and where it comes from before anything's given.

Drip or injectable

Two ways to have NAD+.

The same coenzyme, given two different ways. Your practitioner explains both at your consultation and helps you choose.

In the clinic

NAD+ IV drip

How it's given
Through a small IV line in your arm or hand, at our downtown Naples clinic.
Time in the chair
Longer than a standard hydration drip, because NAD+ is dripped in slowly. You're told how long to allow before you book.
Who looks after you
Our clinical team, who monitor you while the drip runs.
By prescription

NAD+ injectable

How you get it
Prescribed by our practitioners after a consultation.
How it's given
As a small injection rather than an IV drip, so there's no line and no drip to sit through.
How often
Set by your practitioner, who explains your plan before you start.
During and after

What a NAD+ drip is actually like.

Most of a NAD+ drip is sitting back in a comfortable chair. Bring something to read or watch, because it runs slowly.

Starting the drip

You'll feel a quick pinch as the small IV line goes into a vein in your arm or hand. After that, the drip runs at a slow, steady rate.

What some people feel

Warmth, flushing, nausea, cramping or a tight feeling in the chest, most often if the drip runs too fast. Tell us straight away, and our team will slow or pause it.

Afterwards

Most people go straight back to their day. Mild bruising or tenderness where the line was is the most common after-effect. With the injectable, some redness or soreness where it's given is possible.

NAD+ vs a standard IV

Not the same as a vitamin drip.

Both go in through an IV line, but they aren't interchangeable. Read about our standard blends on our IV therapy in Naples page.

Standard IV

Hydration and vitamin blends

What's in it
Fluids with vitamins, amino acids and other nutrients, in our fitness or beauty blend.
How long
Most appointments fit into a lunch break.
NAD+

NAD+ drip

What's in it
Built around one coenzyme, NAD+, rather than a vitamin blend.
How long
Longer, because it's given slowly to keep you comfortable.
Another option
Unlike our vitamin blends, NAD+ can also be prescribed as an injectable.
Who shouldn't have NAD+

Tell us before you start.

Some of these rule NAD+ out, and others change what's appropriate. That's why your history comes first, for the drip and the injectable alike.

It may not be suitable if you

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have an active cancer or are in cancer treatment
  • Have kidney, liver or heart disease
  • Have reacted to NAD+ or any ingredient before

Bring your medicines list

Tell us about every medicine and supplement you take, including blood thinners. Your practitioner reviews them before anything's given or prescribed.

Your care team

The people you'll actually see.

Every visit is with a member of our medical team. Not a rotating roster, not a chart number.

Questions

What people ask us about NAD+.

Anything else? Call (239) 360-6253, any day from 8am to 8pm.

What is NAD+?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in every cell in your body. It helps your cells turn food into energy and takes part in processes that maintain and repair cells. Research into NAD+ is ongoing.

What's the difference between NAD+ IV therapy and NAD+ injections?

The IV drip is given in our downtown Naples clinic through a small IV line, with our clinical team monitoring you while it runs. The injectable is prescribed by our practitioners after a consultation and is a small injection rather than a drip. Your practitioner explains which one suits you.

How long does a NAD+ IV drip take?

Longer than a standard hydration drip. NAD+ is dripped in slowly, because running it faster can cause discomfort, so plan for a longer visit. Your clinical team tells you how long to allow before you book.

What does a NAD+ drip feel like?

You'll feel a quick pinch as the IV line goes in, then you sit back while it runs. Some people notice warmth, flushing, nausea, cramping or a tight feeling in the chest. Tell us straight away, and our team will slow or pause the drip.

Is a NAD+ drip the same as a regular IV drip?

No. Our standard IV blends combine fluids with vitamins and amino acids and often fit into a lunch break. A NAD+ drip centres on one coenzyme, runs more slowly and takes longer in the chair.

Who shouldn't have NAD+?

It may not be suitable if you're pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active cancer or are in cancer treatment, have kidney, liver or heart disease, or have reacted to NAD+ or any ingredient before. Your practitioner reviews your health history and medicines first.

Is NAD+ FDA-approved?

NAD+ isn't FDA-approved to treat any condition, and we don't claim it treats one. Preparations for IV or injection may be compounded, and compounded preparations don't go through the FDA's drug approval process. Your clinician tells you what you'd be given and where it comes from.

Do I need a consultation before NAD+?

Yes. Your suitability is checked before your first drip, and the injectable is a prescription, so it's only prescribed after a consultation with one of our practitioners.

How much does NAD+ cost in Naples?

It depends on whether you have the drip or the injectable, and on the plan you agree with your practitioner. You get a price at your consultation, before anything's booked.

Where can I get NAD+ injections near me in Naples?
